TO-MORROW'S ROSE SHOW.
The annual rose show in the Town Hall is to most people the favourite show of the year, no other flower having such a hold as the rose upon public regard. Ihe Rose and Carnation Club did much to popularise "the queen of flowers" in Wellington, the rose show being the club's one effort. But at no time in the history of the city has the rose been better grown than at the present time. The show to-morrow, while consisting mainly of roses, will also include pansies and violas by the hundred, arid every other flower that is at present in our gardens. One enthusiast has booked a table 18 feet square to stage calceolarias, a number of which are three feet high. Hydrangeas in pots recently imported, will also have a large table to themselves. Native flowers and berries, rock plants in great variety, and flowers from the City Reserves, all well grown and well staged. will make a feast of beauty. The ladies'' decorative classes, the tables of which are judged, by popular vote, are assured of record entries. A first-class orchestra has been engaged, and dainty afternoon tea will be provided by the ladies of the society. The show will be officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Troup, at 3 p.m., and the doors will be opened continuously from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. After the show there is to be an auction eale of prize blooms,
