Scorching winds and temperature! reaching 118 degrees at Stonehenge oa the Thompson. Kiver and 117 at Wurton. were experienced in many paits of Queensland at the week-end. Birds dropped dead in many places. This was followed yesterday by hailstorms and hurricanes on the North Coast, the Nambour and Palmwood districts suffering the most. The citrus crops were ruined, potatoes damaged, and trees uprooted, many being struck by lightning. Houses were badly knocked about.
