REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES

VISIT OF M.C.G. TEAM

At a meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association over which Mr. P. Broad presided last night, the dates for a number of junior representative fixtures were decided upon.

The annual Brabin Shield match with Canterbury is to be played on Ist and 2nd January, 1930, and on 26th and 27th December the Wellington-Auckland Junior Cup match will be played at Wellington. It was also decided that a junior representative match between South Canterbury and Wellington be played at Timaru on 30th and 31et December.

Owing to a shortage of players, the Marist Club applied to withdraw its third-grade team from the competition. It was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the third-grade committee. Various details regarding the visit of the M.C.C. team were discussed. It was finally agreed that the match England v. Wellington be cpmmenced on Friday, the 13th December, at 2 p.m., the starting time on the other three days to be 11 a.m., with the following intervals: Lunch, 1 p.m. to 1.45 p.m.; tea, 3.45 p.m. to i p.m. Mr. J. S. Hanna reported that the new score board at the Basin Reserve was now completed, and that a contract had been ]et for the erection of a soorers' box adjacent to the score board.

Arrangements were completed for the Town v. Country match, to be played at the Basin R»3Ci'7e next Friday and Saturday, play to commence each day at II a.m.

SENIOR FIXTURES.

The fixtures for the fourth round of the jemor competition to be commenced next {Saturday are:—

Wellington v. Institute, Kilbirnie No. 1. Midland v. University, Kilbirnie. Old Boys v. Hutt, Hutfc. Petone v. Kilbirnie, firßt day at Petone, fceoond day at Basin B«serve.
