STUDENTS AT HOME

LONDON, 4th October. Mr. E. M. Dolby. (New Plymouth) is a recent arrival from the Dominion, having come by the Oronsay. He is the holder of the 1851 Exhibition Scholarship in Science for New Zealand, and he hopes to carry, out two years' special research work in chemistry at King's College, London, for the Ph.D. degree. The Bey. H. S. Kenney (recently of All Saints' Church, Palmerston North) has taken up duty on the staff of St. Andrew's Church, Chesterton, Cambridge. Mr. Kenney expects to remain in Cambridge for two or three yean:, during which time he will continue his studios at the Universitr.

Miss Helen S. Blair (Wellington) has recently arrived from Paris and has taken a studio in London for a few months. She will-here continue her art course until Christmas. At the end of December Miss Blair is going to Switzerland with a party of friends for the winter sports, and after that she will probably return to Paris to work at Julian's studio until the summer. She has spent her recent vacation in Scotland, motoring and staying with friends. Mr. J. Wilson Hogg (Wellington), who arrived by the Oronsay at the end of September, has come to England to study at Balliol College, Oxford. He will probably be at the University for three years.

Miss Lorna Beyburn (Auckland) has been spending her vacation with a friend, Miss Sheila Bossitcr, whoso parents, Dr. and Mrs. Bossiter (formerly well-known residents of Auckland) reside at Egham, Surrey. Miss Eeyburn then went to the West of England and toured with Miss Peggy Brown, a Paris school'friend, before joining her mother and brother in Devonshire. In a few days' time the Slade School will re-open, and Miss Eeyburn will re-commence her art studies there.

Mr. Selwyn H. Beckett has reached England to take up the course of architecture offered by the Liverpool University. He will probably be absent from the Dominion for about four years, his time being spent in the Mother Country, America, and the Continent. Miss Priscilla Greenwood (Nelson) has been spending the last year in visiting England and the Continent and has taken the opportunity of furthering her musical studies. She has been working at the Eoyal Academy of Music, taking pianoforte under Mr. Harold Craxton and the 'cello under Mr. Whitehouse, and has now obtained her L.E.A.M.. At the end of the year Miss Greenwood will return to her private practice and her position on the music staff of the Chilton St. Jajnes's School, Lower Hutt.
