The numbers of cases of infectious diseases in the Wellington health district remain low. Following are the returns in the several hospital districts for the past week:—

Central Wellington: Scarlet fever, 8 (i); diphtheria, 2 (1); enteric fever, 0 (2); tuberculosis, 2 (2); pneumonia, 3 (2); erysipelas, 0 (2); eclampsia, 0 (1). Nelson-Marlborough: Scarlet fever, 3 (3); tuberculosis, 0 (1); diphtheria, 0 (1).
