(By Telegraph,—Press Association.)
PALMEKSTONN., This Day. An inquest on the body of an unknown man found on the bank of the Manawatu River following the recent flood, was held this morning. The evidence of the police. failed to trace the identity of the deceased.
: The Coroner, in returning a verdict of found drowned, said that the body was well dressed. It seemed extraordinary that the deceased had not been missed, as ho was not a human derelict. . ' . . ■ ..■
