MALICIOUS FIRE ALARMS

. , CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.' Twelve malicious false alarms were received by the Christchurch Fire Brigade during the month from 7th May to 6th June. This induced the Fire Board last evening to consider again the best way of punishing people who give malicious false alarms. Mr. T. H. Butteffield said that the object evidently was to see the brigade turn out. ■-..-.. ■■..-■■'•■ -

It was decided that in x the cage of a conviction the board's solicitor should press for a sentence of imprisonment.
