(By Telegraph.)
(Special to "The Evening Post.")
DUNEDIN, This Day. After doing good service for over 40 years, tho Otago Acclimatisation Sooioty's fish hatchery, at Clinton, is not now in suitable condition to cope with the demands which tho society is forced to place upon it, on account of the shortage of water in summer, and it has been found necessary to acquiro now ground to work on. With this end in view, the society has purchased about 50 acres of land at Waitati, about two miles and a half up tho Valley from the station, and there a new hatchery is to be-built. Tho contract has been let, and at present the men are engaged in excavating tho sito of tho building. It is hoped to have- tho hatchery working by the end of April, and shortly after that it is probable that.tho Clinton hatchery will bo abandoned altogether.
