A message from Oakland, California, states that Smith and UJm moved The Spirit of, California from tho Mills Fiold, San Francisco, to tho Oakland municipal airport' to-day, and announced tht if all went well they would, begin the flight to Australia within (seventytwo hours, apparently having abandoned their intention to attempt an enduranco record. To-morrow morning the 'plane will bo put to the air for a full load test. Smith says if this is as successful as he anticipates, the 'plane will be prepared immediately for starting on the Australian flight. .
