LABOUR'S CANDIDATE
Mfl. P. FRABSR ASKED TO STAND
ANSWER WITHIN A JTOBTNIGHT.
A large and representative meeting of officials of various trades unions and other Labour supporters in Wellington was hold in the Trades Hall last evening to aalc Mr. P. leaser, M.P., if he would accept nomination as a candidate for the Mayoralty at the coming municipal elections. The speakers urged Mr. Fraser to reconsider his previous decision not to contest the Mayoralty, assuring him that he would carry with him a greater confidence than any other candidate which the Labour Party could put up, and that accordingly he would poll a vorv good vote. Mr Eraser replied that he was not at the moment in a position to give an answer, but he promised that his reply would be made withm two woelcs.
