WELLINGTON HARMONIC SOCIETY
One of the most delightful forms of vocal work is that of the art of unaccompanied part-singing, and it is in that particular branch of music that the Wellington* Harmonic Society excels. For the final concert of the 1926 season, to be held in the Town Hall Concert Chamber on Saturday evening, an excellent programme has been arranged. Under the conductorship of Mr. H. Temple White the. choir of picked voices will be heard in a great variety of numbers, including "Ay Waukin 0," and "Banks o' Doon" (Robertson), "Early Morr." and "Spring" (Rutland Broughton), "Diaphenia" (one of a series of six Elizabethan pastorals set to music by Stanford), "In the Merry Spring" (Ravenscroft), ''Evening Scene" (Klgar), "Jacks and Joan" (a 17th Century poem set to music by Grenville Bentock), and "Blossoms Born of Teeming Springtime" (Dvorak). The societj will bo, assisted by Mrs. A. E. Burge (soprano). Mr. E. W. Robbins (tenor), Mr. and Mrs. it. R. Orr, and a male voice quartette. Mr. Harold Whittle will "be the accompanist.
