■DESPERATE EFFORT BY GOVERNMENT.
(United Press Association.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, 23rd Nov. Haying survived the censure motion, the Government is making a desperate effort to stave off the elections until Parliament, has run the full term. ( A Minister said this mieht be accomplished by conceding Mr. Loughlin's demands for the abandonment of the raid on the Main Roads Board's funds, and dropping the proposed publications tax. Mr. L6ughlin states, however, that his firm, determination is to force an election "within four months.
