HOMING PIGEONS
The Wellington Homing Pigeons Society held its weekly race last Saturday from Auckland, a distance of 308 miles. There- we're fifteen, lofts, with 57 birds, competing. The birds were liberated at 8.42 a.m., being 35 minutes earlier than the previous week, which enabled some of them to time in before dark. The first bird took 9h 28m 47s to do the journey. The results were:—Mr. W. Ferkin's pied c 704w, 1924, time arrived 6h 36m 475,-1; Mr. A. Lamb's b.c.c, 143w, 1924, time arrived, 6h 36m 535, 2; Mr. J. H. Clark's b.c.c, unrung, time arrived 6h 37ra 7s, 3; Mr. J. Priest's bx.c: S3ow, 1925, time arrived 6h 57m 275, 4. The race next week will be from Auckland.
