NORTH AUCKLAND NIGHT EXPRESS
Acting under instructions from the General Committee of the Auckland Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen's Association, and supported by the Northern Chamber of Commerce, Messrs. R. Glover-Clark (chairman), and J. W. Byan, of the Transport Committee of the Commercial Travellers' Association, waited upon the Railway Board to-day and urged the running of a night express from Auckland to Whangarei. It was pointed out that there existed a general desire that such an express should be run; and that the running of. night trains to the South Auckland district had proved a success. The new arrangement would enable country residents to have a full day in the city to transact their business. '■■■ In reply, Mr. J. Jlason said the Railway Board would give the representation* of the deputation the most careful consideration.
