ABSENT IN AUSTRALIAN TEAM
NOBLE'S LAMENT.
(United Press Association.—Copyright.) (Sydney Sun Cable.) (Received 21st October, 11 a.m.) LONDON, 20th October. It is insufficient for young men to exercise under a galvanising influence when the occasion demanded was the chief reason of the failure of tho Australian eleven, according to M. A. Noble, who was fanvelled at a luncheon, at which Mr. W. Brearley (Lancashire) presided. As ■' result tho team had no one ablo to visualise' a difficult position or rise to an occasion as only young cricketers could. He was also afraid that the absence of young men had caused a policy of drift to develop, which was unknown it tho majority of former Australian teams. Noble emphasised the. necessity of young spin bowlers, both left and right hand, in England and Australia.
