TRENTHAM NOTES
There was more than a suspicion of frost in the early part of the morning at Treutham, but later it clouded over, and it would riot appear wise to hazard too much on the weather. The course has dried up very considerably, but the grass gallops are still very soft. The trial grass and tan tracks were available this morning, but most of the work was done on the tan. Gallops on the grass are mentioned in the following, otherwise it will be understood the work was done on the tan, which was considerably faster. ' The two-year-olds Bourse and Wild Pigeon were the first stripped, Bourse leading the other home easily on the grass in 54% sec. Gauntlet was going very well in front,! of Inoe at the end of six furlongs in lmin 19 l-ssec. Star Ranger was,not pressed to run six furlongs on the grass in v lmin 25sec. Indian Sage was going very comfortably witn Tanadees at the end of six furlongs run in lmin 17 l-ssec The Hawk, after running the first halfmile fast, was pulling up at the end of seven furlongs in lmin 34see. Frenzied Finance was going better than Priceless in a sprint down the straight on the course proper. Buoyant was much too good for Jubilance in a gallop over five furlongs on the grass in lmin 9%sec. Phaola and Desert Glow pleased by galloping seven furlongs on the tan in lmin 30 4-ssec, the first half in SOsec. Centrepiece was going easily .alongside | Greencloth at the end of seven furlongs in lmin 34% sec. Grand Knight cantered rour.d to the half-mile post and sprinted home in 51 3-ssec. Modern and Hynanna pleased by getting to the end of seven furlongs in lmin 29 3-ssec, a good gallop. Black Cruiser finished just in front of Hokioi in a gallop over seven furlongs in lmin 34sec. Agitato and Gardant were doing their best at the' end of six furlongs run in lmin 19sec. Ballymoy 11. outclassed Vexatious and I Royal Pointer in a gallop over six fur--1 longs . which took Imiu 19see, but Ballymoy 11. could have done much better. Seatown and Vaward were not hurried when galloping six furlongs on the grass in lmin 26sec. Stream, who looks in great buckle, dashed over half a mile in 52sec, going well. Alyson and Anthonie did useful Work over a circuit without being extended. Note and Climax both hit out well in short sprints. Fool's Paradise and Silver Tray sprinted half a mile in 50sec. Royal Picture and Resinous both pleased by the way they galloped six furlongs in lmin 18sec. Outfit and Matu took lmin 20sec to run six furlongs.' Avola and Sovena were both going well at the end of five furlongs, which took lmin 6see to run. Black Cat finished in front of Jemidar at the end of a gallop over six furlongs in lmin 20sec. Black Mint beat Kilmezzo in a halfmile sprint which took 51 3-ssec. ' Nippy (alone) went very freely over seven furlongs in lmin 31see, maintaining an even pace all the way. He looks well. Le Choucas followed, and although he took two seconds more than, his stablemate he was under a good pull. Tea Bell, who looks very fit and well, was cantered once round. Tom Bracken and Beaumont, the latter looking particularly bright, were restricted to a round at a sound three-quarter pace. Beaumont has never looked better. High Finance and Ti Tree and Laughing Prince and Exhibition were sprinted down the straight on the course proper. After breakfast Lady Passenger galloped six furlongs in lmin 21 3-ssec. Comedio and Royal Lineage wero companions :in a half-mile sprint in 53sec. Te Monanui and Mint Leaf, after taking 55seo for the first halfrmile, ran seven furlir\gs in lmin 34sec. Humoresque and Paganelli sprinted four furlongs in S2sec. Oration and Royal Mint galloped seven furlongs in lmin 34 3-ssec, the first halfmile taking- 53sec. Hipo was not hurried to run home from the half-mile post in 54sec. Merry/Jest pleased by galloping five furloncs in lmin 5 3-ssec. The last to work were Black Duke and Tholomon.. They put up an excellent performance, sprinting five furlongs in lmin ssec, and finishing on terms. It was one of the best of the morning.
