What is probably a record in judgments for small sums was created at the Magistrate's Court, Wanganui, last week. Judgment was entered for fourpence. Costs on the action amounted to £2 la 6d, the original claim having been for £10 0s 4d, though the balance of 4d was all that,was dealt with. A claim almost aa small was dealt with by the Court at Wanganui a few ninths ago, when judgment was' given in favour of a Wanganui mercantile firm for sixpence. Michael Joseph M'Grath, an electrician, aged, 46, who pleaded guilty at the. Magistrate's Court yesterday to forging and uttering a cheque for £11, was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. .
