PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT ON LIQUOR ISSUE.

(United Press Association—Copyright.) OTTAWA, 18th October. A Toronto message states that the Provincial Legislature has been dissolved. The elections will bo h.ld on Ist December, according to an announcement by the Premier, Mr. G. H. Ferguson, to-day. The party standing in the House is: Conservatives 76, Liberals 12, United Farmers 14, Independent 2, vacant 7. Mr. Ferguson has held office since 1923. The reason for the dissolution of the Toronto Provincial Legislature is a Government appeal to the country on the policy of Government control of liquor sales, coupled with local option.*
