The Glasgow to London express had a wonderful escape on 7th September, when it over-shot the end of the platform at Leeds Station, on the London, Midland, and Scottish Railway, crashing into and demolishing the buffers, running, through a brick wall, bringing down a roof, and smashing a small power-house used for the station lighting. It finally came to rest astride a narrow passage leading to the London and North-Eastern Railway Station. Despite all the.damage. Jiot a single person was injured.
