' — w -, Twenty-five military defaulters were fined by Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., in the Magistrate 'a Court yesterday. Failure to attend drill cost William Brown and James Dawson £5 each; Arthur R. Compton, John Hector Ronald Semple, Keith L. Simmons, and Benjamin Williamson, £3 each; Angus William Anderson, Harry Burrell, William D. Monks, Ernest John Love, Charles E. Pickrang, Edgar H. Paterson, AVilliam Robert Stewart, and Roy Smith, £2 each; Matthew Shiel, 10s on each of three charges; Arthur V. Stickings and Stewart David MTarlane, 10s each; and Horatio Colin Cox, Kenneth Corbett Stewart, and Benjamin Thomas Golden Parsons, 7s costs each. Shiel was also fined 10s for failing to attend an annual camp. William William Cammish, Stanley G. Culverwell,. Terence M. Mahoney, nnd Gladwyn C. Petley, who failed to register, were each fined £2.
