EXPERT MANAGEMENT. AVAILABLE FOR NEW CEMENT COMPANY. In a concern of the nature of the British Standard Portland Cement, Limited, now being floated with a capital of £350,000, to manufacture cement on its rich Whangarei properties, the management is a factor of great importance. The cement industry is of national importance and involves the scientific application of special technical knowledge and expert skill. The promoters of the new company, are, therefore, fortunate in being able to number among the experts who will actively control its management the services as works manager of Mr. James Snell Wilson. Mr. Wilson has had a long and varied experience in the cement manufacturing business, and was with Wilson and Wilson's New Zealand Portland Cement Co., Ltd., for 14 years, from which company he possesses the highest credentials. The directors feel that the company is extremely fortunate in being able to secure Mr. Wilson's services and extensive knowledge of modern requirements. In 1915 he studied modern cementmaking conditions in America, especially as regards road construction, and has, with Mr. W. J. Wilson, C.E., critically examined every constituent of the Whangarei project. In their joint opinion, as will be seen in the prospectus, no such fine combination of limestone deposit, coal supply, mill and township site/ water supply, and shipping facilities exist anywhere else- in New Zealand. These experts state that the very best cement can here be produced and j delivered at a bedrock price, and that ! this property offers a permanently rich and lucrative commercial undertaking. Proof of the promoters' belief in the venture is given by the fact that they are taking up 80,000 £1 contributing shares for cash out of 213,000, and are guaranteeing 4 per cent, interest on the remaining 133,000 shares now being offered to the public. The prospectus may be had from any member of the Stock Exchange, from the National Bank of New Zealand, Ltd., or from the interim secretary, Mr. P. E. Pattrick, F.P.A.N.Z., P.O. Box 542, Wellington. —Advt.
