"FAUST."

The Town Hall should be filled on Saturday evening, when Gounod's grand opera, "Faust," will be given by the Royal Wellington Choral Union. The opera has been rehearsed for several months, and, under Mr. Temple White's direction, the society s chorus and orchestra, consisting of some 300 members, may be expected to give a dramatic rendering. The public will note with pleasure the names of those engaged to take the parts of the principal characters in Gounod's opera. Miss Kate Campion and Mr. Harison Cook, who have performed in this opera on numerous occasions with the Carl Rosa Opera Company, will sing the parts of Margarita arid Mephistopheles respectively. Mr. Ernest Drake of Dunedin, will sing the name part; Mrs. Alice Harris that of Siebel; whilst Mr. Hilton Osborne will double the parts of Valentine and Wagner. The final rehearsal will take place on Friday at 7.30 at St. John's Schoolroom, Dixon street. The box plan may be inspected at The Bristol.
