(Received Sth September, 10 a.m.), MELBOURNE, This Day.' ■ The Federal Government has concluded an agreement with Sir Bertram Mackennal for the completion, according to the original design, of the sculptural group for the Port Said memorial to the soldiers of tho Australian and New Zealand forces who laid down their lives in Egypt, Syria, and Palestine. The work was begun by the late C. Web-Gilbert, and uncompleted at tho timo of his death in October last. Sir Bertram Mackennal will deliver the group before tho end of 1929.
The late Charles Web-Gilbert was born at Talbot, Victoria, and was commissioned by the Australian Government to execute models of battlefields fought over by the A.I.F. He also executed the memorial to the 2nd Division at Mont St. Quentin, France.-
