LEVY FOR "HONORARY" MEMBERS.
The executive of the Wellington Bowling Centre met last evening, Mr. S. M. Stone (chairman) presiding. Mr. J. H. Kershaw asked for a ruling as to whether clubs should pay the Is affiliation levy on all members, whether honorary or true bowling members. Mr. F. Meadowcroft said that the Kelburn Club had a small membership of sons of bowlers who by payment of £1 Is a year were allowed to use the billiard tables of the club. Was the levy to be paid on these? It would mean that the leVy would have to be collected for anyone enjoying a game of cards or billiards in clubs. The chairman gave it as his ruling that under the Dominion Council rules, as they affected the Wellington Centre, the levy must be collected. Seatoun, Lyall Bay, and Eastbourne all had members of other clubs who joined for-Sunday bowling on. payment of £1 Is a year. All these clubs paid the levy on those members, and the billiard members of the Kelburn Club must be 4 similarly paid for. SENIOR PENNANT DRAW. It was stated that 27 teams had entered for the senior pennants, and it was agreed to divide them into four sections, three of seven and one of six. The president expressed his gratification at the return of Khandallah to the senior pennants. The draws were made as follow: — Section A: Seatoun^. Island Bay; Hutt v. Petone; Newtown v. Kelburn; Victoria, a bye. Section B: Johnson.ville v. Central; Wellington v. Hataitai; Thorndon v. Karori; Lyall Bay, a bye. Section C: Khandallah v. Victoria; Hataitai v. Petone; Lyall Bay v. Central; Thorndon, » bye. Section D: Upper Hutt v. Hutt; Newtown v. Wellington; Island Bay v. Kelburn. SHIELD MATCHES. The draw in the shield matches was: Section A: Hutt v. Kelburn; Newtown v. Hataitai; Seatoun v, Petone; Central, a bye. Section B: Victoria v. Thorndon; Island Bay v. Lyall Bay; Wellington v. Karori. JUNIOR PENNANTS. The junior pennants draw was:— Section A: Newtown v. Central; Kelburn v. Johnson ville; Hutt v. Petone. Section B: Karori v. Seatoun; Lyall Bay v. Upper Hutt; Island Bay, a bye. MID-WEEK COMPETITIONS. Two-rink mid-week competitions were arranged in the following order, each club to play all other clubs, half the games to be played at home, and' others away:—Karori, Hataitai, Seatoun, Hutt, Newtown, Central, Petone, Wellington, Thorndon, Lyall Bay, Victoria, Island Bay. DATEB OF COMPETITIONS. Opening dates of competitions were announced as:—Senior pennants and shield matches, 6th November j junior pennants, 20th November; mid-week competitions, 26th October; Edwin Feathers, 30th October; Hill Pins, 3rd November; championship singles, 16th November; pairs, 27th February; rinks, 2nd March; veterans' gala .day, 2nd February; annual centre tournament, 27th December. The president annotrnced that he would be pleased to present medals again for the veterans' tournament.
