BROKEN BYLAWS
Bylaw offenders were dealt with in. the Magistrate's Court yesterday by Messrs. W. H. Coy and S. M. Stone, J.P. s. Driving in a dangerous manner cost George Christie £2 on each of _ two charges, and Lillian St. Clau- Morris £1 10s on one charge. For speeding, Walter Arthur Cubitt and Arthur John Delahunty were each fined £2 For a similar offence Howard Douglas T. Ellis, Allan Didsbury Moss, and Eamish Mitchell were fined £1 10s. For having no lights, Harry Wells, Albert Stanley Dawson, Lindsay Grey Wilson, Wilfred Leonard Wysocki, William Hurrell, and Oke Heketa were each fined 10s. David Ferdinand Ladin was fined a similar amount on each of three charges, and Amelia Ladin 10s on one charge. Leaving their motor-cars unattended cost Alfred John Couchman and Lewis C. Cohen £1 each, and George Leslie Stewart Edward Ting, Arawa Patrick Joseph Ward, Clifford Frederick Eskell, Austin W. G. Gibson, John Mftthias Gamble, Percy Keesing, and Eric.,Duthie Ritchie 10s each. _ A penalty o£ £1 was imposed on Gordon Harkness and Neville W. Newbold, who failed to notify change of. ownership of motor-cars. Hugh Riley, John Fearn, and James B. Southwood, who refused to move on when requested, were convicted and dischai'ged. Driving through prohibited streets cost Frederick J. S. Adams, Ivan Bird, Kenneth Northland Clarke, Maurice Corn, and Douglas Wilkins £1 each. Others fined were:—Harry Charles Hart and Norman Robinson, for riding their bicycles on the footpath, 10s each; Gordon Harkness, for using a motor-car without an endorsed certificate, 10s; Ernest Croft and Ernest Duncan, for driving on the wrong side of the road, £1 each; William Duckett, for failing to attend drill, 10s; Ngan Lee, for allowing rubbish to accumulate on ' his premises, £2; George Christie, for obstructing a tramcar, £2; George Christie, for driving past a stationary tramcar, 10s; Frederick Russell, for failing to pay the Hutt road license fee, £1; Howard Douglas T. Ellis, for having no license, £1; John George, for having no number plates, 10s; William Eric Maitland, for leaving his motor-car facing the wrong way, 10s; William Patterson, for cutting a corner in a cart, 10s.
