DANISH AND N.Z. BUTTER FIGURES.
During the yoar ended 31st July, the average (inference between New Zealand and Danish butters on the London market was 11s 2d per cwt, as compared with au average difference of iiSs lOd during the preceding year. The average price of New Zealand, compared with (he average of the previous season, showed a decllno of 3s 4d per cwt—lß4a Id as against lS7s Sd^Danish, showing an average decline of l"s Od. The average secured for Now Zealand unsalted was 185s sd, or a premium of Is 4d over the salted, a. level which (the N.Z. Dairy Producers Board says) offers no inducement to manufacture the unsalted. To have boen on par with salted at tho levels quoted tho promlums should have been Is 2d. The gross value of New Zealand's exports of buttor and cheeso for the year ending 31st March, M 26, as shown by the Customs returns, sliow a shrinkages in value for the year of:— IJutter £2,604.894, cheese £332,032; total shrinkage, £.3,026,920.
