GREYMOUTH'S SUCCESSfUL FESTIVAL

GEEYMOTJTH, 6th September.

The Greymouth Competitions Society's seventeenth festival concludes to-night, after the most successful series since pre-war days. There were about 1100 entries, a feature being the number of competitors from other districts. The judges is both the elocutionary and the musical sections paid tributeß to the general standard of the work done, Mr. Culford Bell stating that the oratorical section was far superior to any ho had judged elsewhere, while Mr. Temple "White said there were outstanding musical performances, and the standard of past years was fully maintained.
