HOSPITAL RADIO FUND
DAILY CHEER FOR SUFFERERS,
There can be no doubt that the introduction of radio listening-in sets at the Public Hospital will prove a veritable boon to patients. It is reasonable to suppose that the innovation will be welcomed by the staff as well, as it will provide a novel means of assisting patients to forget pain and trouble. The phenomenal progress of wireless within recent years h%s made radio sets for hospitals quite a practicable thing, and already many of the leading hospitals in the United Kingdom and in America are so equipped. It is intended that Wellington shall not lag behind other countries or towns in this respect, and radio sets for the Wellington Public Hospital are bow assured. To make the scheme complete, however, contributions are urgently needed by the Radio Fund Committee. These may be posted to the General Secretary, G.P.O. Box 303, Wellington, or Jeft at the office of this newspaper. A street day is being held on Friday next to help the Hospital Radio Fund. All persons willing to assist this effort on behalf of the hospital patients can leave saleable goods with Mr. G. Petherick, 157, Vivian street, Mr. F. Castle, chemist, Cuba street, Mr. W. Bromley, Trades Hall, Vivian street, or at the various stalls on Friday.
