The Wellington selectors (Messrs. A. J. Griffiths, A. "Wilson, and C. Eamsden) have selected the following team to represent Wellington in the match with . Manawatu-Horowhenua (now known as Manawhenua) at Palmerston North on Saturday next:— Full-back, Mulhevon (Selwyn). Three-quarters, Jowett (Petone), Grenfell (Old Boys), Bedell (Old Boys). Five-eighths, Foley (Eastbourne), Cowdell (Oriental). Half-back, Brain'well (Old Boys). Wing-forward, Jessup (Poneke). Hookers, Barry (Marist), Warden (Petone). Lock, Pickering (Berhampore). Other forwards from the following: Young (Selwyn), E.. Barry (Iviarist), Taylor (Oriental), Thomas (Petone), Sly (Oriental). The emergency back is H. Tilyard (Poneke).

THE SOUTHERN TOUR.

The Wellington team to visit the South Island, leaving Wellington next w^eek, is as follows:— Backs.—Mulheron (Selwyn), Sutton (Athletic), Bedell (Old Boys), South (University), Mackenzie (University), Walpole (University), M'Kay (Athletic), Bramwell.(Old Boys), Warwick (Athletic). Forwards. —Osborne (Athletic), Warden (Petone), Martin-Smith (University), Tyree (Athletic), Edgar (Athletic), Taylor (Oriental), Young (Selwyn), Sly (Oriental), Jessup (Poneke), E. Barry (Marist), Burns (University). . . Matches will be played with Otago, Southland, and Canterbury. The team to go to Palmerston North and that to go South are required to attend the Athletic Gymnasium at 8 p.m. on Thursday.

MUTUAL LIFE OUP MATCH,

The annual match for the Mutual Life Challenge Cup is to be played at Athletic Park on Saturday next, and it will afford another opportunty of seeing Athletic and'University in action. It is stated that University's challenge has been accepted subject to confirmation at to-night's meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union's Management Committee. The charges for the match will probably be the same as those made last Saturday in order that a .portion of the proceeds may be donated to the New Grandstand Fund.
