PERFORMING RIGHTS
« CONCESSION TO RADIO BROADCASTING COMPANY. (By Telegraph.—PreM Association.) AUCKLAND, 6th September. An amicable arrangement has been reached between the Australasian Performing Rights Association, Ltd., and the Radio Broadcasting Company on the question of broadcasting musical compositions of which the association possesses the copyright. A percentage of the Broadcasting Company's gross revenue was demanded by the association in return for permission to broadcast the music affected. Mr. Edwards, secretary of the association, stated afterwards that it had been possible for the association to concede lower terms than those agreed upon in Australia, as it was realised that some encouragement should be given to the young organisation.
