KAWARAU OPERATIONS
A CHEERFUL REVIEW.
(By Telegraph.)
(Special to "The Evening Post.")
AUCKLAND, This Day.
A comprehensive review of the results obtained last week was received this morning from the director of Consolidated Kawarau Claims, Ltd., which controlled over 60 claims at the timi of closing the gates. Mr. Harper (chairman) and Mr. Grimwade (Auckland director) have also signed the following telegram reviewing the Consolidated Company's operations: "Having oxamined the whole proposition, we are satisfied that nothing better could have been expected at this time of the year. The water is low enough to carry out sufficient prospecting to indicate the value of the undertaking, and the results are as good as can be expected. The gold found on several claims is not only increasing daily, but indicates future success. There is no reason for pessimism, as it appears certain that in the winter the water will bo considerably lower than at present."
