INJURED BY EXPLOSION

AUCKLAND, This Day. An explosion caused by a plug of gelignite, thought to have been already fired, resulted in severe injuries being suffered by James Grama, whilo engaged in the drainage schomo at Ellcrslie Racecourse yesterday. Grama was working a popper drill down a shaft, when the explosion occurred. His injuries consist of a fracture of the left leg and extensive abrasions to the head and arms.. His condition is reported by the hospital authorities as fair. Another workman ten feet away escaped unscathed.
