THE COLLEGE RECORDS.
The Old Boys of Wellington Collego wore amongst the first to occupy Samoa, and a large number left with the Main :Body, and took part in" Gallipoji. Two thousand served in the war, and 222 died on active service, while 195 held distinctions and decorations. That must be admitted to be a •wonderful record for, one school. He desired to express on behalf of'the governor* of "Wellington . College admiration for the sentiments which inspired the Old Boys to subscribe so much.
The president of the Wellington Col-' lege Old Boys' Association (Dr. J. S. Elliott), Baid that not loss than oucthird of a large number of Old Boys who had served in.tho war had been killed or wounded. Ho was glad to say that the hall would bo,finished and embellished'in the highest way, worthy of those it was to commemorate. '
