AUCKLAND'S OLD QUESTION
CONCESSION TO MOTHERS.

AUCKLAND, This Day.
The question of allowing ■ folding perambulators to be carried on the city tramways was considered by the Auck-. land City Council last evening, whenit was decided to allow the practice o$ certain cars and during spocified houri. Mr. G. Brownlee had suggested that the Tramways Committee should aseer-. tain from the other centres the method of dealing with folding perambulator^ j and on receipt of this information con-, sider the carrying of perambulators on, the Auckland tramways. ,■ " , The acting-manager of tramways sup-* . plied this information in. regard- -to' Auckland. The manager- said the prams could be carried oh double platform cars, on the -rear motorman'» com-' partment, and on coupled cars on the rear platform,of the leading car.' Hs1' recommended that prams should be car- i ried oh these cans on the following terms:—The number be limited to two. per car, provided there was space ■ not occupied; that prams be folded b'eforeT being handed to the conductors; and, that they bo not carried betweenthe'/ hours of 4.15 and 6 pjn. on week-dayr," and between 11.30. a.m. and 1 p.jn; on Saturdays. It was not considered that--there was sufficient room on the singleplatform of combination cars,! 34"'in.*. number, to permit of prams being car-? ried.
