GOOD PERFORMANCES

THREE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS.

There was a good attendance at all sessions of the Wellington Musical and Elocutionary Competitions in the Town Hall yesterday. Throughout the standard of the performances was good, and much interest was taken in the various tests. Three of the society's scholarship awards were made yesterday. Mr. Arthur Lungley (Dunedin) won the men's vocal solo with 177 points. The .ady's recitation scholarship was won by Miss Anita Winkel (Dunedin) with 174 points, and George Power (Wellington) was successful in obtaining first place in the boy's recitation (under 16), with 162 points. The following awards were made:—
