, ■ • ■ * —. * Police cases in the Magistrate's Court this morning were dealt with by Mr. W. G. Eiddell, S.M. Andrew Eynes, a fireman, aged 32, who admitted that he deserted from the Athenic on 28th August was sentenced to 21 days' imprisonment. For his sixth offence of drunkenness, John Maddock, aged 44, was convicted and discharged, and for his second breach of his prohibition order he was fined £2, in default seven days' imprisonment. Thomas Samuel Bowlands, aged 27, who was charged with assaulting Hugh Douglas so as to cause actual bodily harm, was remanded till next Wednesday. Bail of £50 and one surety of £50 was allowed.
