KALGOORLIE MURDERS
COULTER CLAIMS ALIBI . ' EVIDENCE AT TRIAL. (United Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 3rd September, noon.) . PERTH, This Day. The Kalgoorlie murder trial was continued. . The accused William Coulter, in the witness-box, said that he was in Kalgoorlio all day on the day the other accused, Philip Trefiene, was said to have shot the detectives. About 5 o'clock in the afternoon he drove to the hotel, and saw Treffene and the licensee, Evan Clarke. He was told by Clarke that Treffeno had accidentally shot the detectives. Clarke asked him what he thought best to do. Witness said they had bettor tell the police, but Clarke would not agree. Clarke asked witness to help him to dispose of the bodies by throwing them down a shaft. Witness refused to have anything to do with such a proceeding. He never at any time wejtinto the bußh in connection with tho disposal of tho bodies.
