» . . SOUTHERN EUGBY TOUE. (By Telegraph.) . (Spocial to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day. Bsporting to the \urion, the manager of tho Auckland Eugby team stated that the union officials in Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa, and Wellington could aot be too highly commended for the excellent manner in which the team was catered for. He laid special emphasis on the clean sporting games played by tho teams in each centre Not the slightest feeling was displayed, and the excellent refercoing of E. Paton, at Napier and Wellington, and of E. Freeman, at Masterton, made all the games fast and onjoyable. A notablo feature of tho tour was the cordiality of thoi public in each centre toward tho Auckland team. As an instance, at the interval and close of the Hawkes Bay match both teams received a most hearty ovation. Similar tributes were passed at Mas.terton and Wellington, whore the public showed appreciation of the Aucklanders' efforts.
