BOXING
BOYS' INSTITUTE CHAMPIONSHIPS. The annual boxing championships of the Boys' Institute were commenced ]ast evening in the gymnasium at the. Boys' Institute Buildings, which was filled with a highly-excited crowd of juveniles. The boxing was of a high standard, and reflected great credit on the instructor, Mr. W. J. Carr. The results are as under:— 4st Championship.—Les Bloomfield (4st) defeated G. Curran. Gst Championship.—B. Wilson (4st 71b) defeated A. O'Neil (4st 51b); M. Kidd (4st 101b) lost to B. Loveridge (sst). 6Jst Championship.—E. Fan-ell (6st 51b) lost to W. Withy (Cst). Bst Championship.—B. Kidd (Bst) defeated A. Jackson (7st 131b). sJst Championship.—F. Kidd (ost 51b) lost to C. Hurcombe (sst 71b). 7st Championship.—A, Saunders (7st) lost to K. Webb (7st). ■ SJst Championship.—B. M'Nair (Bst 71b) lost to D. Finlayson (Bst 51b). 7Jst Championship.—Sid. Lister (Vst 71b) defeated Ganda Nager (7st 71b). Mr. Harry Hull acted as raf eree, and the Judging was done' by 'Messrs. W, Garnham and G. Curran. The finals will bo boxed to-night, when some good bouts should be seen.
