HAUGHTON VALLEY RESIDENTS
The general monthly meeting of the Haughton Valley Progressive Association was held on Monday night. The activities of tho association have now made it necessary to form several subcommittees: —' Education committee, Messrs. Puntier, Reeves, Saidel, and Sinclair; hall committee, Messrs. Bryan, Briee, Eeeves, and Mrs. M'Clintoch; Hornsey road committee, Messrs. Lauronson, Wallis, and Bruce. This committee has to push forward this work to enable a bus to cater for the district. A deputation has been formed to' wait on the Health Department, and. also the City Council, in regard to licensing the Town Belt' for dairying purposes. It was contended that one such farm was' a menace to public health. It was stated that there was more diphtheria in that part of the city than in any other, and the association viewed this with no little concern. The Civic League is to be asked to co-oper-ate with the association. It was also stated that this dairyman was ordering peoplo off the Town Belt, and had actually fenced portions of it off, prohibiting Haughton Valley residents from using this short cut to their homes.
