CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL
GIPSY SMITH POINTS OUT ONE. (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day. "I could leave this platforni and go and get drunk if I wanted to. I could also begin to curse and swear and go jazzing, but I don't want to." Gipsy Smith was proceeding on these lines last night when a voice inquired: "Who are the children of the devil?" Gipsy Smith replied: "You, for one. If he came.into this hall he would carry you out." Gipsy Smith made the remark as a cue for a protest agninßt interruptions. He said that nooody had more patience with ail audience than himself, but he intended to be firm and to block the services from being disturbed. He was there for a definite purpose, and the only right that the other people had, if they attended the mission, was to keep quiet. He was dealing with momentous questions which demanded concentration and no interruption.
