(United Press Association.—Copyright)'/ MOSCOW, 31st August, A hundred and sixty people Wex£ drowned at the sinking of the Burevesfr nik, through collision with a. mole ia a fog while trying to avert a collision with the German steamer Greyne. There were 563 passengers on board at the time of the disaster. Lifeboats saved 255, and many others saved:themselves.-
The majority of the passengers were inhabitants of Kronst-fydt, who were ie» turning with their families after spencV ing Sunday in Leningrad. The h«ro~ ism of the sailors, many of -whom perished, prevented the boilers exploding, and saved many women and childrenPanic prevented the lowering of any.of the Burevestnik's boats. The captain*« wife and children were asleep in a locked cabin, the key of which was kept by the captain, who perished.^ '.
