AZOBES, 31st August,

Six were killed and many injured on Fayal Island by an earthquake which did great damage to the, capital, Horta, and the countryside. Cracks appeared in the streets and a number of houses collapsed. The terror-stricken population is camping in the squares. All British subjects are reported to be safe.
