The report of the Special Committee set up to consider the motor-bus regulations occupied the attention of members of the House of Kopresentatives during the whole of yesterday afternoon's sitting. There-was overwhelming agreement with the Cowimittee's recommendation that the regulations should be put into statutory form, and that compenstaion should be paid to the motor-bus proprietors on their concerns being taken over by the municipalities. In the evening, the House agreed tentatively to several tariff resolutions submitted for the purpose of increasing duties on imported timber and on foreign motor-cars, after which the Dentists . Amendment Bill, which proposes to give some 57 unregistered dentists an opportunity to qualify, the Main Highways Amendment, and the "Washing-XJp" Bill were read a sec* ond time. The House rose at 12.15 a.m.
