THE HAWKES BAY MATCH

In reply to a question at last night's meeting of ■ the Wellington Eugby Union as to whether any notice should be taken of the newspaper reports of the Hawkes Bay Eugby Union's recent discussion about criticism of play in the match with Wellington, the chairman (Mr. J. Prendeville) advised that there, should be no discussion until the receipt of a letter, from the Hawkes Bay Eugby Union. A telegram had been, received from the Bay Union regarding a player's alleged statement, and this was held over.

Advice from Hawkes Bay concerning the financial result of the match with Wellington showed that the gross proceeds were over £1500. It was decided to congratulate the Hawkes Bay Union upon this result.
