The House of Representatives mot at 2.30 p.m. to-day.

Mr. C. B. M'Millan (Tauranga) gave notice to ask tho Minister of Agriculture whether there was any truth in the Tumour that the overseas shipping companies intonded to increase the rate of freight on basic slag by 10s a ton, and, if so, whether ho would try to prevent tho increase being made. The Minister of Mines (the Hon. G. J. Anderson), in reply to the Leader of the Opposition (Mr. H. E. Holland), stated that the Liverpool State Colliery was idle to-day, because of difficulty in soiling slack. Plenty of orders could be obtained for steam coal, but not for the slack. (Proceeding.)
