CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

The relationship between, the series of city motor-car thefts and the burglaries in the 'country districts was disclosed at the Magistrate's Court this morning, when Arthur Gavon, a salesman (25) and Thomas Alick Ellis, taxidriver (23) were charged with committing a number of burglaries. Gavon pleaded guilty to all the charges, but Ellis pleaded not guilty. Gavon pleaded guilty also to three charges of converting motor-cars to his own use.

Chief Detective Gibson said that Gavou went out into the country districts in "borrowed" cars, and returned to town after committing the burglaries. Gavon wag committed for sentence and Ellis for trial.
