BOWLING

An extraordinary general meeting of the Island Bay Bowling Club was held last night to discuss a notice of motion proposed by Mr. 1\ Jones to rescind a rule passed at the annual meeting in connection w v ith the selection by the Match Committee of twelve teams to compete for the champion rinkß. The motion included a proposition that the club should revert to the old system of nominated rinks. After discussion the rule was rescinded and the proposed motion was defeated, after several amendments had been carried. It was definitely decided on an amendment by, Mr. H. Dixon that the champion rinks competition be discontinued for a season. Immediately afterwards Mr. H. Clarke proposed that the selectors select a team towards the close of the season to represent the club for the champion rinks. This was decided upon al* most unanimously.
