TOP>WILL BE REACHED THIS TIME.

(DJJIIID PftBSS ASSOCIATION.—COPIRIGHT.)

(POBMSHJD ID IBS TISiES.)

(Received Ist February, noon.)

LONDON, 31st January. Brigadier-General Bruce, leader of the Mount Everest expedition, states that it is intended to make every effort to explore the unknown valleys to the westward of the mountain. He is confident that, with ordinary luck, the summit will be reached this time, in view of the experience gained by earlier expeditions and the friendly relations established with the Tibetan Government, whereby he is able to command the services ot natives who on\lhe last expedition proved themselves virtually impervious to cold, hardships, and fatigue. i The expedition, with the knowledge frffviously gained, will be able to mov.e much more rapidly on this occasion.
