Commencing at the- Britannia, Theatre to-day, William Fox presents John Gilbert, the eminent screen actor, in " The Exiles,'.' a drama of the rejuvenation o£ a young man by Oriental magicJohn Gilbert is charming in his portrayal of Harry Holcombe, the New York District Attorney, who-finds real life and real love in the- freedom of Tangier. Betty Bouton, who' plays the feminine lead, affords a sympathetic characterisation of a - fallen girl. ■ The adventure and romance that abound in the gay eeaport of Tangier.- are fully seen on the screen.' It is a place where public opinion does not exist, and people ■1o just as they please, without referring to the current book of conventions. -Alagic is exercised on' the recuperating district attorney, and, ha undergoes a marvellous transformation. Mr. Gilbert is well supported by John Webb Dillon, Margaret Fielding, and. Fred- Warren. The other pictures on' the pro-r gramme are-1 good.
